About Me
I grew up in the Midwest and then moved to the South where I attended the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at Georgia State University, with a special focus on children, families, and underserved populations. Afterward, I completed my clinical internship at the Department of Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University and, after earning my Ph.D., went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in Sacramento, California.
After completing my fellowship, I served as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UC Davis for almost 9 years. As a member of the faculty, I provided therapy and psychological evaluations to children and their families at a community clinic. I also helped to run the postdoctoral fellowship in psychology, taught courses in family therapy, psychological assessment, and law and ethics, and trained psychology fellows, psychiatry residents, and medical students. I have also maintained a private practice since 2007 working with children, teenagers, and adults in therapy and psychological evaluations.
